"This online tool simulates the difficult decisions that we will have to make...
...it gives us valuable feedback on what people see as the priorities for spending over the next year"
- Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool
Enable citizens to quickly understand the total budget, where resources are allocated, and the consequences of making changes.
The budget overview gives an immediate representation of the impact a participant’s allocations are making on the total budget. Service groups show how your resources are structured and link to further information, helping participants make informed choices.
Citizens interact with the simulator to adjust spending and income while comparing consequences and reflecting on their decisions.
The consequences summary offers the opportunity for participants to confirm they are happy with the outcome of their suggestions. Comments can be added to their submission while deliberating over the summary of consequences.
Citizens need consultation to fit around their lives and the devices they use, at home, at work, or on the go.
Responsive design provides an optimised experience for citizens, whether they are using a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Visits to a UK Budget Simulator (2 week period, 2013): 71.8% computer (desktop or laptop), 18.6% smartphone, 9.6% tablet.

We were looking for a simple and engaging way to help our residents understand the issues we faced setting our budget and to find out what their priorities were. Budget Simulator was the perfect solution. Not only was it quick and easy for residents to take part in, it was also quick and easy for us to set up and add the content to, thanks to the excellent support from Delib.
