Welcome to the Ryedale District Council Budget Simulator

The purpose of this activity is to gather your views on how the council should reduce its total budget spend by 10% next year. Most of the public sector is facing a reduction in the level of funding they will receive from central government and we need your help to make sure we can continue to target our resources where they are most needed and have the greatest impact. The need to reduce the budget by 10% is based on the Council’s current projections. The actual figure will be established when the Government announces the grant they provide to Ryedale District Council in December.

The simulator will allow you to find out about each different area of the Council's work and how much it costs each year. You can then decide how you would allocate the resources available across the services based on last year's budget.
