Welcome to the Wycombe District Council Budget Simulator

This is where you can help us draw up our budget for 20010/11 and beyond. All Councils are facing difficult choices about how we should spend money on the services that we provide for residents. Central government has indicated that public spending will need to be cut substantially over a number of years to reduce the size of the public sector borrowing caused by the economic downturn and funding of the banking bailouts. We are committed to keeping council tax increases down as we appreciate that personal household finances are hard pressed too. This means that we have some difficult decisions to make and this is why we want your help.

This is your chance to have your say and to make an informed choice about the level of services that we should provide and for you to show us your preferences and priorities for the future. We have only included those services where the Council has some discretion over spending. Some services we are required to provide by law such as determining and managing housing and council tax benefit payments so these are excluded from this exercise. Similarly, we have not included items related to council overheads as these are the subject of a separate major efficiency and savings review that we are carrying out along with our partners within the other councils and public services in Buckinghamshire which would make savings of 15%.
